Google Should Hire Me To Do A Great Party.

Well Google I/O seems to be pretty great. New tablets, a streaming bowling ball, and some Jelly Beans.  With all the hoopla and exclusivity of the event you think they would have been able to put together a great party. They had mini-golf and beer and Paul Oakenfold. Way to stay relevant guys. You guys want to show that your cutting edge but have a DJ that is so 90's. The worst thing Paul seemed like he was checking his messages on his iDevice, the crowd seemed un-interested and the video was meh at best.
I'm not hating because I respect what you guys are doing. I love Android and Chrome but if you want to be hip with the times learn to do it right. I have been partying for years and could really help you when it comes to throwing a party. Look at how we roll. In fact to be really hip you really should get one of the most innovative electronic musicians in the game to work with you. The reason Apple has done so well with the iPhone and iPad is because they have marketed themselves as cool. With a little help Google can be cool to. The products are innovative let the parties be as well. You should really have me involved in helping you with your party next year, I mean where is the media coverage for the event. Lets be cool friends together Google.

Big Win Baseball is a Home Run.

It's the summer time and that means fun, sun, and BASEBALL!!! If your a big fan of the game then check out Big Win Baseball from Hothead Games. You may know Hothead from all the other top notch games in the Big Win series. I am a huge fan of the Hockey and Soccer games they have and Big Win Baseball also delivers a great experience. You pretty much buy card packs and customize a team to compete in daily leader boards. If your a fan of fantasy leagues you will have a blast with Big Win Baseball. Believe me, trying to get your team on the top of the league becomes very addicting. A great game that is sure to please Baseball fans young and old. U4iA Games are changing the gaming battlefield with Offensive Combat.

Every once in a while a game comes around and all you can say is it's about time. A game that is bigger than console vs pc or hardcore vs. casual. For years the world of browser based games have been full of  point and click games that could never be called hardcore by a fan of games like Call Of Duty or Halo. Even the games on Facebook labeled as hardcore are really just Farmville clones with tanks. U4iA Games hopes to change the way look at browser based games with their upcoming free to play FPS.

U4iA games is not a noob company trying to capitalize on the rapid growth of Facebook games, it was founded by Dusty Welch and Chris Archer. If you are not familiar with those names, they are two of the most important minds behind the success of First Person Shooters at Activision. With that kind of pedigree I expected a high level of quality from Offensive Combat. What I saw at the  media presentation did not just live up to my expectations, it gave me a glimpse into the future of gaming.

Offensive Combat will allow up to 16 players to compete across several game types.  I had a chance to try out both team deathmatch and capture the flag in a browser based environment. To the untrained eye this game may seem like just a typical FPS, this is not the case by a long sniper shot. In fact Offensive Combat may be one of the most important games to come out in a long time.
First of all, this game will finally bring hardcore gaming to a browser based environment. This is a big deal because there is a huge untapped market share of people who find it easy to play on facebook. A lot of these people grew up on hardcore games like Rise Of The Triad and Duke Nukem, yet hardcore gaming is hard to integrate into their lives now. This is a game for fathers with limited time, girlfriends who like games but never play consoles, and CEO's with a little too much time on their hands. I actually can see this game interfering with jobs of people, it's pretty darn addicting and easy to jump into.

The other amazing thing about this game is that it is made in Unity 3D. Unity is one of the most amazing engines when creating for a mobile or social platform. This game shows off that Unity is a powerhouse when used right and this will be a benchmark application to showcase Unity. Currently Unreal is a household name in the console and PC world, Unity is going to show it's also a name to be reckoned with. This game will be the talk of the town in a few months and I have to say it is one of the most important FPS releases in several years.
U4iA Games may have gotten this game right and I am excited to see how it grows in both game developments and player community. U4iA has definitely tapped into what we expect from a quality FPS. In my demo of the game I had fun because of quality controls, humorous character designs, great levels, and multiple gameplay options. Keep in mind this is a free to play game and will be available to a huge portion of gamers due to it being browser based. U4iA has seen the future and has created a game that is tapped in to what the current trends are in the gaming industry. Offensive Combat is free to play and browser based. One of the most fascinating things about this game is that U4iA has a mobile strategy they want to implement for Offensive Combat.

Though not a lot of information was revealed about the mobile integration, U4iA promises it will help to create an amazing immersive social experience. They describe playing with a mobile device "as having an extra sidearm to carry into battle". For all the hoopla behind iPad integration in UBISOFT's upcoming Watch Dogs, Offensive Combat may beat them to the punch and get to utilize it for a larger audience. In the end what Offensive Combat really brings to the table is a new way for people to experience the fun of first person shooters we have taken for granted as hardcore gamers.

After seeing what U4iA Games are doing for browser based games, I can't wait to see how they will challenge the perceptions some people have about mobile gaming. U4iA Games is a company on my rader and will be on several others in the next few months. Check out the game trailer

Strikefleet Omega out now for Android devices.

Out today is a brand new space strategy game called Strikefleet Omega.

Strikefleet Omega puts you in charge of commanding a fleet of spaceships out for vengeance against the alien bug terrorists that blew up Earth. The game sounds intense and although it has a very pick up and play feel to it, the game does have some some rather pull out your hair moments.

The game requires strategy as you decide what ships to use, how much resources are dedicated to mining, and how the hell am I gonna stop this swarm of alien bugs that don't give up. The graphics are simple but not boring and makes me think of classic anime shows like Star Blazers and Captain Harlock.

Designed and developed by Harebrained Schemes, the team behind Crimson:Steam Pirate as well as one of my all time favorites Shadowrun, Strikefleet Omega is a casual game for hardcore gamers. The game play is intense but can still be played while waiting for a bus or wasting time at the office.

The gameplay does not get boring and constantly evolves. The device interaction is very fun and uses a swiping action in order to send out ships to go after alien crafts.  The continuous addition of ships, enemy types, and strategic battling techniques keep me coming back for more alien battle action.

A funny thing I noticed in the game is that the names of several of the star systems you do battle in are homages to movies. A loved doing battle in the Ripley and the Plisskin star systems, homages to two of my favorite movie heroes.  Check out Strikefleet Omega for a really fun, free to play space strategy game. You can download it from the link below.

Big Win Soccer is championship worthy.

With all the action of the Euro 2012 football championship in full swing, check out Big Win Soccer from Hothead Games. Hothead has made some really great sports simulation games that combine card collecting and team management.  The game is localized in French, Spanish, German, and Italian as well as English (Go Rooney!!). The game is also available in several Asian countries and just like the game of Football or Soccer if that's what you must call it, it is truly global.

Check out this review from one of the BAM editors.

Managing a soccer team actually is fun! Unless you're really into statistics, most team management games aren't much fun. And although Big Win Soccer still doesn't give you direct control over your team, it somehow makes team management fun. Part of this is tied in with the thrill of discovery, as you'll purchase cards to grow your roster of players. Part of it is the hands-on digging into a particular player's attributes. Part of it is watching a game play itself out after you've set things up the way you want them. I know I'm not doing the game justice; you simply have to try it out for yourself. -- Keoni C.

Hothead also has a very awesome Hockey game if you prefer your goals on ice. Big Win Hockey is one of the most addicting game I have played on Android and really helped me get over the fact that the NY Rangers did not win the cup this year.
You can download both of these titles and check out a few more Hothead games from the Best Apps Market link below.

My Spider Sense says Gameloft has some blockbuster summer hits in their Utility Belt.

French mobile publisher and developer Gameloft has a couple of AAA titles slated for release this summer. Already having a great Ice Age and Men In Black game out on the market, Gameloft will be coming out with both a Spider-Man and Batman game to coincide with those summer movie blockbusters. We are pretty big comic book fans at Best Apps Market and can't wait to play as these legendary characters on our mobile devices. The Dark Knight Rises looks amazing and I wonder if it will approach the level of genius that Arkham City was. Many times movie adaptations have fell flat but GameLoft is a company that has put out some high quality titles including my favorite mobile FPS series N.O.V.A.  Check out the trailers for these upcoming games and download some of the other top notch Gameloft games by clicking the link. Seems like Ubisoft isn't the only French company that is dominating today's game space.

This was Best Apps Markets first year at E3 and we are finally recouping from an amazing time. This year was an amazing year for mobile and several companies came to E3 with a full arsenal to show off. Companies like GREE and WeMade showed off some amazing games and really showed that not only is mobile a huge place for casual gaming, it may very well be the savior of the gaming industry. OnLive had a great presence and is pushing the limits of cloud gaming, I can't wait to play Saints Row The Third on my Android. Even peripheral companies recognize the power of mobile gaming and a strong showing from Nyko has me considering the potential of an Android tablet being my new hardcore gaming console. We will be spotlighting several companies who really showcased the future of Mobile.

E3 Spotlight: WeMade

WeMade is a Korean company established in 2000.Originally specializing in developing and publishing free-to-play PC games they have made an exciting move to the mobile world. With a solid user base of 20 million, WeMade has taken note of the growth of the mobile market and is determined to take full advantage of it. The company brought a quality lineup to their E3 booth and showed off some excellent games that will be available for both iOS and Android.

"We feel confident that we can become a global leader in mobile games," say the developers.
If this year at E3 is any indicator, that confidence may be right on the money.

Positioned right next to the huge GREE booth, WeMade seemed like they were used to being a player at E3. The WeMade booth had some great games, cute girls, martial arts displays, and a up close view into a company making bold moves in the mobile space. WeMade is a company to watch as the future of mobile gaming grows, if you don't believe me just check out the trailers for some upcoming games they have. I am very excited for their upcoming mobile MMO and Friend Fighter, a social mobile fighting game.

Nyko is known in the gaming industry for top notch peripherals and have now have a line of products geared toward Android users. The PlayPad and PlayPad Pro are a set of controllers that can potentially make your Android tablet into a home gaming console. I used both of these devices at E3 and was very impressed how intuitive and responsive the controls were. Nyko even has an app that allows you to map your controls, so the potential to play Angry Birds with a controllers on your phone or tablet exists. Costing less than $50 dollars at launch, I look forward to some intense gameplay using these nifty little bluetooth controllers. E3 Spotlight: GREE

This year GREE showed the reason why so many in the industry are calling them them the "Nintendo of Mobile". The GREE magic started with an amazing booth that featured pretty booth girls and plenty of game stations to try some triple A mobile titles.

Some of the spotlight titles GREE showcased were Resident Evil VS, Wacky Motors, and Driland. GREE seems to care about all mobile users and those game are either already on both iOS and Android or will be on the way to both platforms. The company has a rich lineup of games that will satisfy mobile gamers of all types

The GREE booth was great and showed that the company is here to stay. Just check out this video of the GREE booth and you can see that GREE is quickly becoming a "money" name in the gaming world.
Oh and on a side note, GREE also threw the best E3 party this year and I was lucky enough to get in.

Thank you GREE :)
